Announcing the Summer 2017 Concert Series March 27, 2017 Tickets on sale this week MIM Music Theater is excited to present the Summer 2017 Concert Series with more than thirty-five new concerts from a variety of genres. The lineup includes talented jazz musicians, award-winning singer-songwriters, and many more for all guests to enjoy! The series features Lizz Wright on May 1, who seamlessly weaves through multiple genres of gospel, jazz, folk, pop, and blues. On May 23 and 24, blues-rock band Hot Tuna will present an acoustic performance. GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sarah Jarosz will perform several of her folk songs on June 13 and 14. Guests can look forward to the return of several artists to the MIM Music Theater, including blues singer and pianist Marcia Ball on May 10; jazz guitarist and vocalist John Pizzarelli on May 12; soul singer-songwriter Morgan James on June 3; recent GRAMMY Award–winning O’Connor Band, featuring iconic fiddler and composer Mark O’Connor, on June 7; jazz band Django Festival All-Stars on June 21; and French jazz and blues band Paris Chansons on July 8. The Summer 2017 Concert Series welcomes many artists who will be performing at MIM Music Theater for their first time. New performers include rock band BoDeans on June 16; jazz organist Dr. Lonnie Smith on June 17; Australian folk rockers the Waifs on June 29; Austrian brass-band ensemble Federspiel on July 9; and the Pharoah Sanders Quartet, featuring jazz saxophonist Pharoah Sanders, on July 28.
