The Greatest Musical Instrument Museum In The World - The Environment
Entry and Circulation  |  Upon entering, guests will start to experience MIM immediately with a reception area showcasing musical instruments from around the world. Once in MIM, guests will be able to venture into any of several different areas representing the regions of the world. There will be no one "set" path, allowing guests to personalize their experience.

How they are made  |  MIM will highlight several important instruments from around the world, show how these instruments are made, and how they produce the music we so enjoy.

Experience Rooms  |  Here, guests can experience and play instruments from cultures around the world. Unique instruments new to most of our guests will be emphasized. For example, a gamelan from Bali will provide a special interactive experience.

Conservation Lab  |  This laboratory will feature state-of-the art tools to restore and maintain the museum’s collection.

Auditorium  |  A 250-300 person capacity auditorium will provide excellent acoustics for performances, films and seminars. State of the art recording equipment will allow us to capture these events for future viewing. Live performances of music will be an integral part of the museum’s mission.

Special Exhibition Space  |  This area will accommodate special exhibits, traveling shows and other engagements.

Restaurant  |  We will create a comfortable and family-friendly space which will allow our guests to relax with a light snack or a full meal.

Library  |  There will be an emphasis on recorded and filmed music with internet access. Our library will continue to grow over time.

Gift Shop  |  A unique shop that will include music, books, posters, art and gifts. It will also allow guests to put together personalized music compilations from exhibits in the museum.

Video & Audio Recording Studio  |  A professional grade studio will allow us to record and video performances and other material for displays and special purposes.
