Donor Information
Instruments for Sale or Donation  |  In advance of MIM’s 2010 grand opening, we are building a vast collection in line with the museum’s mission of celebrating the history and diversity of musical instruments from cultures representing every country in the world. The instruments and objects used to tell these diverse stories will to come from different time periods in varied states of condition. The ideal instrument will be an authentic example that has been used in the context of a country’s musical culture. Whenever possible, the museum hopes to collect archival materials, photographs, audio, video, and objects related to the instruments being made or used.

If you own an instrument or object that will help tell these stories, MIM welcomes your proposal for its donation or sale.

Please include the following in your proposal:

  • Your contact information, including phone number and email address
  • Photograph of the object(s)
  • Brief description of the object(s)
  • Information pertaining to the history and ownership of the object(s)

Please address your proposal in writing or by email to:
