Essential duties:
Plan, direct, implement and track a comprehensive program of fundraising for MIM. Programs include but are not limited to:
- Capital campaign of $100 million for construction of the building and the initial collection
- Capital campaign of $50 million endowment to support instrument acquisition and operating costs
- Annual giving campaign
- Planned giving program
- Membership program
- Grants
For each program:
- Develop goals in conjunction with senior management team.
- Design program with appropriate levels, benefits and tools to reach the goal.
- Develop strategies and tactics to reach goal
- Direct research of prospects.
- Oversee contribution acknowledgements, recognition events, stewardship, and cultivation activities.
- Select, train, manage and develop team members and volunteers.
- Establish and oversee all necessary procedures and processes.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree required
- Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience meeting fundraising or sales goals in a development or high level sales role
- Demonstrated record of leadership and management in at least one capital campaign, including direct experience in obtaining outright gifts of $1 million or more
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills
- Ability to problem solve, work independently and excel in a high performance culture
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude with an understanding and appreciation for stewardship
Other:
- This position reports to the President and Director.
- Located in Tempe, AZ during planning stages of MIM; located in Phoenix, AZ once museum is constructed.
- Evening and weekend work is to be expected.
- Travel will be necessary as required in meeting with donor and sponsorship prospects.
