Charming songs of such harmonic subtlety that some have hailed him as the successor to Antônio Carlos Jobim.

Arguably the best Brazilian songwriter since Antônio Carlos Jobim.

Latin Grammy Award winner Ivan Lins is one of Brazil’s most celebrated artists. His compositions have been recorded by countless international jazz and pop luminaries, making him the second most recorded Brazilian composer in history, behind only Antônio Carlos Jobim.
Lins, who taught himself how to play the piano at 18, was greatly influenced by jazz and bossa nova. His breakthrough came in 1970, when the acclaimed Brazilian singer Elis Regina recorded his song “Madalena.” In the 1970s and ’80s, Lins wrote the hits that launched his career aboard, including “The Island” and “Love Dance,” one of the most recorded songs of the last 30 years.
Lins’s latest album, My Heart Speaks, was released last fall and features revelatory new versions of his greatest songs.
